The business opportunity

The opportunity is a ‘hands-on’ franchise. Each of our franchisees is mobile and, ideally, operates their business from home using a fully liveried van. This helps to establish a strong presence and build awareness of the brand in their own exclusive territory.

Earnings potential

Earnings are largely dependant on an individual’s effort and tenacity. Enquirers will be provided with income projections and other financial details to enable them to discuss the opportunity with their professional advisors. However, our policy of zero royalties means even higher profit potential.

Training

We provide training in all aspects of running the franchise. An operations manual that outlines our business practices will also be provided.

Lead Generation

Our commitment to you as a franchisee means that we will provide you with leads through our centralised marketing programme. This incorporates a national and localised media campaign. Our marketing partner will optimise your local marketing based upon the best performing offers and channels, as well as producing the collateral. All you need to do is let them know when you need more leads.

Legal agreement

Franchisees secure the rights to offer our blinds sales and installation services in a given territory.

Products & Branding

As a franchisee you will supply products exclusively from the Scottish Blinds® product range and will trade under the Scottish Blinds® brand name, image and trading style, allowing you to benefit from the excellent reputation already achieved.

How the business works

Customer enquiries that are received through our national Freephone 0800 number are handled by our central call centre, and details are obtained as to the type of product required. This information is passed onto the franchisee in the customer’s area, who then contacts the customer and arranges a mutually convenient appointment.

Having already been notified of the type of product required, the franchisee will be aware of the customers needs, and able to advise and quote accordingly. A 50% deposit is taken, with the balance payable on completion. The franchisee is responsible for negotiating the price, but a typical gross profit margin of 42.5% is expected.

Having established the customer’s requirements and had the quote accepted, the order is subsequently placed with the factory, and processed. The completed product is then sent out to the franchisee who makes a further appointment for installation, and collects the remaining balance.

This allows for a positive cash flow through the business and minimises possible customer debt. We then invoice the franchisee on a strict weekly basis.
