Platinum Property Partners get behind Peace One Day
23rd June 2010
The event is in support of Peace One Day, with 100 per cent of the profits from ticket sales being put toward creating the world's first globally-recognised day of ceasefire and non-violence.
Real estate franchise PPP deals in the sourcing, acquiring, refurbishing, tenanting and managing of properties as HMOs (Houses of Multiple Occupation). PPP's founders are patrons for Peace One Day organisation, so it is something very close to their hearts.
The event will also feature presentations by Richard Reed of Innocent Drinks, Simon Woodroffe of YO! Sushi, Jeremy Gilley of PeaceOneDay.org, and Mike Harris of of EGG Plc, who will all take to the stage to outline their experience and power of influence. The event is promising to give a real insight into business experience and business etiquette from those that have built up solid reputations.
Unleash your power of influence will be held on Friday, 2 July, from 9am-6pm, at the five-star Jumeirah Carlton Tower, Knightsbridge, London SW1X 9PY.
Here are the headline speakers for the day:
- Simon Woodroffe OBE: YO! Sushi & YOTEL: Simon left school at the age of 16 with 4 O levels in the days when they used to do peace signs and mean them. He went on the road with the likes of Rod Stewart and The Moody Blues before becoming a stage designer for many of the concerts of the 70s and 80s. After a spell in television, and frustrated in his early 40s, he conceived and launched YO! Sushi to critical and commercial success. The success of YO! has brought Simon much media attention, and has appeared on many TV and radio programmes including Dragons Den. An inspiring yet down to earth and common sense speaker, Simon speaks from the heart as someone who has been there, done it, failed and then succeeded in building a brand that has emerged fast and is tipped with a big international future. Simon speaks around the world at corporate and promotional events and is greatly in demand on the speaking circuit at conferences, dinners and awards. Simons achievements were recognised in the 2006 birthday honours when he was awarded the OBE. Simon and his business partner, Gerard Greene, have also founded YOTEL, the world's most radical hotel which opened at Gatwick Airport in July 2007. Heathrow and Schipol followed and a 669 room YOTEL opens in central New York in 2011.
- Richard Reed: Co-founder, Innocent Drink: Richard left advertising to set up a fresh fruit juice business with two friends. Famously they set up a stall at a music festival selling smoothies. They set up a banner saying Should we give up our jobs and do this full time? and had two bins for the empty cups, labelled Yes and No. By the end of the festival, the Yes bin was full, the No practically empty, and the rest is history. Within a few years they had grabbed over 70 per cent of the smoothie market. Notwithstanding the success of Innocent and masses of good publicity, Richards philosophy centres on simplicity, caring about the product, involving the workforce, focusing on detail and listening to criticism. Richard is a regular contributor to the media and has spoken at the IoD convention at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
- Mike Harris: Founder of Egg plc and the best-selling author of Find Your Lightbulb. Mike took Egg from a concept to a billion pound public company in just two years.
- Jeremy Gilley: Founder of Peace One Day. One of the most successful not-for-profit UK organisations of all time and certainly one of the most influential has had support from the likes of Jude Law, Angelina Jolie, David Beckham, Sir Paul McCartney and many more.
- Caroline Marsh: Secret Millionaire, property millionaire and social entrepreneur, the Caroline Marsh story is a true inspiration.
- Steve Bolton: As a founder of Platinum Property Partners - the fastest-growing and most successful franchised business in the last 25 years - Steve will be opening the speaking programme and sharing his story and secrets as to how you can 'unleash your power of influence'.
- Plus surprise speakers!
