A ROYAL DAY TO REMEMBER
Wiltshire Farm Foods, Trowbridge
His Royal Highness, the Duke of Kent visited Wiltshire Farm Foods in Trowbridge to honour the company (as part of apetito ltd) winning the 2005 Queen’s Award for Enterprise - the UK’s most prestigious business award. Arriving at 11 o’clock, the Duke of Kent was met by Paul Freeston, Chief Executive. Company staff had gathered outside to meet and greet him and in attendance were the High Sheriff of Wiltshire, the Chairman of Wiltshire County Council and the Mayor of Trowbridge. His Royal Highness was shown to the Product Development Centre where he was met by the Board of Directors including Ben Haynes, Director of Wiltshire Farm Foods and taken through the company’s operation. Freeston comments "It has been an honour to receive the Duke of Kent and we feel privileged that he chose to visit us to acknowledge the company’s hard work in achieving the Queen’s Award." On his tour, the Duke of Kent visited the Meals Department where he took a look at the production process and talked to employees. He inspected the Wiltshire Farm Foods vehicles enjoying the opportunity to see the facilities and operatives behind the service which won Wiltshire Farm Foods the Award for Innovation in recognition of the commitment, technology and investment in its home delivery of food to the elderly. Before enjoying lunch, the Duke of Kent was invited to unveil a commemorative plaque to formally mark his visit.
