The Future of the Internet Evolution
The internet's evolution has paved the way to many different business opportunities for entrepreneurs. The technological advancement that we are facing continues to gather pace. More and more websites, software and applications have recently come to the fore, as the numbers of people that are using them increase relentlessly.
A lot of technological experts are saying that the future of the internet is going to be in videos and visual media. This future of the internet that we are referring to is actually something that has been evident in today's trend. Online videos have become so popular that it takes up a lot of time in terms of what people use the internet for these days. The popularity of YouTube has skyrocketed and other social networking sites such as MySpace & Ecademy now offer video facilities.
Some people use online videos to catch up on movies and TV shows that they've missed. Others on the other hand, make use of videos to share their experiences of their daily lives. However, there are also the people who make use of videos to communicate. Some would take a video of themselves to send to their friends or relatives online. But who needs to do that when you can have online video calls right on tap? Many are using Skype and online video cameras to communicate over both large and small distances.
The internet has made great leaps with the invention of video streaming. This has provided a great business opportunity for the technically inclined entrepreneurs. The Internet has removed the barriers of not being able to talk and see your clients or family and friends from another location. Pretty soon, video communication will be a common Internet activity that will eventually be a thing of the past and will then be replaced by another new technology: 3D holographic communication perhaps?
The internet is a powerful tool and will open doors for several new business ideas. Who would have thought 20 years ago that we would all be sharing videos or that it would be possible for you and me, to get in touch with someone from across the globe and at the same time be able to see them?
Who would have thought back then that we would be able to access a world-wide database of information through our personal computer? If we have achieved those things in the last decade, what more will we be able to do, using the Internet in the future? Internet technology has revolutionized so many things in our life, including how we interact with friends, family and people we have never yet met!
The internet has introduced new forms of communication and new ways to connect with the world. It has given us new forms of media with which to advertise and market our products. It has given us another way to express ourselves while paving the way for aspiring reporters and writers to voice out their opinions through their blogs and personal websites.
The internet has also led to an explosion of home based businesses. It is a great leveler and in spite of different monetary values across the world, poor Indians and Chinese can communicate and reach the same markets for the same products as their wealthy counterparts. As a result the lifestyles of a few people have been improved beyond their wildest dreams.
Where the internet will lead to is indeterminate, but if anything is certain, it is that more and more opportunity will be available for the technically aware youngsters of tomorrow, and the day is fast approaching when the traditional offline store as we know it today will be a thing of the past, or if not that, just an anachronism to which parents will take their kids to show them how they used to do their shopping.
They would have to explain the concept of queuing and paying with cash. Of physically picking goods from shelves, and waiting in line to have them packed and paid for rather than being selected from an online mall and delivered to the door. Perhaps the internet will lead to a nation of overweight lazy people; with nothing to do but click a touch sensitive screen every now and then?
Seriously though, the internet has proven to be a life-changing tool. What else can the internet do to our lives in the several years to come? One thing's for sure, people will continue to build applications and new software that we will embrace in the future. The future of the internet will open many windows to new ideas and business opportunities for the lucky few.
