Company Overview
Home Instead Senior Care UK provides non-medical homecare to seniors. As a franchisor, it celebrated its 10th anniversary in September 2015. Homecare visits last a minimum of one hour with Home Instead, to provide time for relationship-led homecare to be given, which helps seniors stay living happily and healthily in the comfort of their own homes. There are 150 carefully mapped territories available for caring entrepreneurs with Home Instead, 2013 winner of the bfa Franchisor of the Year Gold Award.
Home Instead has 150 territories available, all with a minimum of 25,000 residents aged over 65. By years 3-4 franchisees can typically own a business with a £1million turnover generating an operating profit of 15-20% (excluding any director salary or loan costs). This is achieved with around 130 clients. Territory resales are available across the UK. Home Instead has received a 5 Star Rating in a franchisee satisfaction survey, the highest possible, in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Training
Home Instead’s training and support programme is second-to-none, commencing with a tailored 180-day training programme, followed by ongoing support from the business development team. With a 5:1 ratio of franchise offices to national office employees, the support that can be drawn upon is comprehensive; including business development, marketing, care and quality standards, financial management, and IT. Peer support and collaboration is encouraged at conferences, through neighbour networking and online facilities.
Daily Life of a Franchisee
Home Instead’s franchisees become thought leaders in their communities, acting as the conduits through which Home Instead can achieve its mission to change the face of ageing. An average day involves managerial duties, good communication with employees (caregivers and a care manager) and clients, and active networking within the community, to raise local profile of the model and build links with key charities, organisations and local figureheads.
