New and Improved Ableworld NOW OPEN

Feb 10, 2017

Ableworld Birkenhead’s newly enlarged mobility store was officially opened on Thursday 26th September by Esther McVey MP, the Minister for Disabled People.

Ms McVey, the MP for Wirral West, was shown around the new store by franchise owner Andy Rees and Ableworld’s Managing Director, Mike Williams.

Local businessman Mr Rees has been operating his mobility store in Park Road North, Birkenhead for over five years and recently made the decision to increase the size of the store by moving to premises next door opposite the entrance to Birkenhead Park.

Ableworld Birkenhead is part of the larger Ableworld Group which is the UK’s leading mobility retailer and stocks quality products and services for the elderly and disabled at affordable prices. They provide a wide range of products such as wheelchairs, scooters, riser-recliner chairs and adjustable beds all designed to help their customers live more active and comfortable lives.

As well as stocking larger items from its spacious larger premises Ableworld Birkenhead also has a large range of smaller items to help with day-today tasks in the kitchen, bathroom and other areas of the home. At the other end of the scale the store’s stairlift division offers customers value-for-money options to have a stairlift fitted in their home by their professionally qualified engineers.

Andy Rees is also proud of his innovative Scooter Surgery which allows customers to actually see their scooter being serviced and offers a free battery check on mobility scooters.

The team in Birkenhead also includes store manager David Ferguson, Lesley Hughes, Denise Stamp and engineer Keith Wright who offer a well-trained, courteous and caring service to customers who visit the store.

Mr Rees, who was Ableworld’s first franchise, has plans to make Birkenhead the flagship store for the company and a “Beacon of Excellence for Mobility in the Wirral”. Customers with a need for mobility or homecare products are warmly invited to visit the store in Park Road North to see how Andy and his team are getting on.
