12 December 2016:  Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection has announced 2016 has been ‘positivity profitable’ for franchisees.

Managing director, Michael Johnson, confirms:  “At Card Connection we are focused on quality in every aspect of our business.  Our nationwide network of franchisees provides a top class service supplying greetings cards to retailers and our range is second to none.  Our constant drive and attention to detail to always be better and make a difference, is reflected in the results that our franchisees are seeing.

“The greetings card industry is long established and yet many of our franchisees, from all across the UK, continue to enjoy business growth,” continues Johnson.  “Andy Burchell from Bournemouth has seen sales increase by an incredible 24% this year; Dilip Sanghani from Manchester has grown his business by more than 15%, while Kevin Miles from Southend-on-Sea is up 11% and Richard and Sue Webb from Peterborough are up 7%.”

Mike Barber who runs the Swindon franchise with his wife Dianne comments:  “We are coming up 12 years as franchisees with Card Connection and this year we have grown sales by 6%.  I think, largely this is due to the quality of the product.  The greetings cards are so popular!  I have also secured some new retail accounts recently, plus after over a decade working with my established customers they really trust me now!  They know that if I make money so do they and so they are happy for me to introduce lines that I know will sell well.  Christmas as always is a busy time and we are certainly looking forward to a prosperous New Year!”

Market leader in the UK for the franchised distribution of greeting cards, established in 1992 & a full member of the BFA since 1995, Card Connection and its network of almost 70 franchisees distribute cards & accessories to around 12,000 retail outlets.  Card Connection’s proven business model has enabled hundreds of franchisees to run successful businesses over the past two decades.  Ten full-time head office staff manage over 100 national retail accounts on behalf of franchisee network and the average time a franchisee stays with Card Connection is eight years and some more than 20 years!

Michael Johnson concludes:  “Card Connection’s whole ethos is to support our franchisees both nationwide and individually, to enable them to run profitable businesses.  By providing a fantastic service and product range our franchisees continue to be some of the most successful in the industry.”

Card Connection is part of UK Greetings, which is a subsidiary of American Greetings Inc., one of the largest greeting card publishers in the world and has limited vacancies for franchisees that are keen to run an expanding business.  Since the franchise network in the UK is complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already-established territory from an existing franchisee.   These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £12,500 + Stock + Card Connection fee with earnings potential in excess of £50k per annum.

Territories currently available include: Fife, Edinburgh/Scottish Borders, Stirling, Brighton, Reading, Plymouth, Bath, Northampton, Liverpool, Macclesfield, South West Region Ireland.
