The ActionCOACH franchise is celebrating success after discovering that it's been shortlisted in the 2012 Best Franchise Awards in the prestigious category of Best Large Franchise. In recognitions of the success of the brand's franchisors all across the UK and beyond, ActionCOACH has been shortlisted in this category alongside other large and well-known franchise brands such as McDonalds and TaxAssist.

ActionCOACH is certainly a large and growing franchise and a great success story. Already it is the number one business coaching franchise worldwide and boasts over 1,000 offices in forty countries. It was founded in Australia in 1993 by Brad Sugars and was subsequently introduced to the UK via the franchising model in 2001. The formula is based on a proven and tested coaching methodology which is used to grow profits, improve time-management skills and build high-performing teams. It has been so successful that the ActionCOACH methodology is now used by over 10,000 businesses each month to achieve measurable results and improvements.

The judges of the awards selected their shortlist of franchisors according to feedback from more than 2000 franchisees who were gathered together through an industry-based study into levels of franchisee satisfaction. Lloyds TBS Commercial are sponsoring the awards and their head of franchising, Richard Holden, said that the bank was delighted to be supporting the franchise awards, which recognised outstanding success within the franchising world and continued to help to improve industry standards.

He pointed to the strong UK franchising sector, which was continuing to display robust growth even within a wider picture of sluggish economic development and said that this success was reflected in the list of award nominees, who were all playing a vital part in stimulating the UK economy. He sent his best wishes to each of them.

Speaking specifically about ActionCOACH, Holden said that less than 10pc of businesses were able to survive their first decade of operation. This is because although most were able to excel within their profession or trade, they didn't always have the broader skills and acumen needed to run a successful business. He explained that ActionCOACH delivered targeted coaching programmes to teach business owners how to be successful. Its own business success was reflected in a pattern of 'exponential growth'.

Ian Christelow, the Managing Director of ActionCOACH in the UK, said that he was very pleased that the business had been shortlisted in the Best Large Franchise category of the 2012 Best Franchise Awards. He said that the awards would help to raise the profile and reputation of Action Business Coaches and prompt other high-calibre potential franchisees to look more closely at the ActionCOACH business and the opportunities afforded through its franchise offer. He also expressed great satisfaction at being a finalist alongside brands such as TaxAssist and McDonalds, which showed the 'tremendous achievements' of ActionCOACH after only ten years in the UK. Finally, Christelow extended his thanks and recognition to his entire UK team for their 'skilled input' and hard work in gaining such recognition.

The award winners will be announced at the Best Franchise Conference in November, which is being held in Oxfordshire.

ActionCOACH has ninety coaches in the UK currently, working in an industry that is experiencing 40% growth annually. Some of these coaches already have turnovers exceeding 40k a month and have recorded net operating profits of 70pc.
