Caremark (Malta) and President of Malta celebrate Informal Carer Awards

Date

Feb 10, 2017

Guests and nominees for Malta’s Informal Carer Award gathered at an evening reception held in the President’s Palace in Valetta, Malta on the 6th July 2015.

The Informal Carer Award, an initiative launched in April of this year by the President of Malta and with the support and collaboration of Caremark (Malta) was created to acknowledge and honour carers who dedicate their lives caring for their loved ones at home without compensation or payment.  The main aim of the award was to raise awareness about this crucial role and the emotional support informal carers need themselves.

President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca was inspired to launch this award by the selfless dedication of her husband Edgar Preca in caring for many years for a relative.

Caremark (Malta) commented: “We are so very proud to be involved in the development and sponsorship of the President's Informal Carer Award. Yesterday's event was inspiring. All nominees are deserving of the recognition for their hard work and dedication towards the loved ones they care for.  Huge congratulations to the winner - Josette Borg!”

Attending the event from Caremark Limited UK Head Office were Managing Director, Anne O’Rourke and National Support Manager, Liz Bosley-Sharpe.
