National home care provider, Caremark Limited have scooped another major award with the plaudits this time going to their National Training Manager, Lynda Goldsmith, a Registered Safety Practitioner with the IIRSM.

Lynda, together with colleagues from Caremark, along with Karen Hoskins, Health & Safety Manager with Essex Chambers of Commerce, attended the National Association for Safety and Health in Care Services Learning and Development Forum, held at the De Vere Kassam Stadium, Oxford.

The Association now in its 10th Year, focuses on the many aspects of health and safety affecting the care sector and organisations from across the industry were there to hear presentations from key industry speakers, network, share good practice as well as attend the Safety in Care Awards Luncheon.

Lynda, a finalist for the Learning & Training Award beat two other nominees to take the crown for her contribution to safety, learning and training within the home care sector, having made significant and innovative improvements to the way care staff learn and train.

A new eLearning course developed by Lynda and underwritten by Karen Hoskins and her Safety team at Essex Chambers paved the way for the production of a unique system of blended learning, which brought together the two worlds of Health & Safety and the Care industry.  This innovative way of delivering high quality training to a dispersed work force and in line with safety and health and social care legislation secured Lynda this prestigious award.

“I am really thrilled to receive this award which comes after more than 2 years of hard work.  However, what we now have is a superb system of learning enabling all care workers to be trained to the same high standard across our network of offices and a training programme which is also accredited by the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management” said Lynda.

Caremark Limited have a network of franchised offices throughout the UK delivering bespoke care and support to people of all ages, abilities and ethnicities who wish to remain living safely and independently at home.
