Papa John's, the popular pizza franchise, has announced the grand opening of five new outlets in the UK within the past two months.
In fact, the company's ambition is to have more than two hundred branded outlets in the UK by the end of the current year and the rollout strategy has seen the latest Papa John's restaurants open in Leamington Spa, Broxbourne, Enfield, Manchester and Guildford. These latest openings take the brand's number of existing pizza outlets to 188.
One of the newest franchisees, Gerry Hughes, already owns other retail franchises across a range of industries. He has opened one of the new stores with his sister, who already runs a company selling interior plants. Gerry and Wenna have opened up the new Fallowfield store in Manchester. Gerry explained that the pair had been looking for a suitable new franchise that would offer them growth opportunities. They carried out a great deal of research into the pizza and fast-food restaurant franchise sector and found that Papa John's was a standout offer, with an excellent product, plenty of available store locations and great opportunities for franchisees to invest and own their own business.
Gerry also explained that he and his sister were keen to open a second outlet within the next couple of months to make the most of the growing market.
The franchise sales manager for Papa John's UK wing, Dave Galvin, explained that the company's expansion was resulting in a great deal of interest from franchisees who saw the potential in owning and running a Papa John's pizza outlet. The brand's concept is key to this, as only the best ingredients are used in the pizza recipes, along with the freshest dough. This creates a natural and improved flavour and a high-quality pizza, which customers increasingly value. This is supported by a strong brand presence, a professional and established support team to help new franchisees and support the network. Franchisees have a chance to create their own lucrative and thriving businesses, with great expansion potential through multiple outlet ownership.
Certainly the brand is renowned in the market for its quality of pizzas and it looks set to grow sustainably and strongly. Papa John's currently has opportunities available in a number of regions in the UK, including Manchester, Yorkshire, the West and East Midlands, the North East, the South West and across Scotland and Wales. The company invests heavily in franchisee support and helps to source outlet premises, as well as providing full training.
We're impressed with the Papa John's story at FranchiseExpo. It's a great example of a solid business in a growth market and a franchise structure that pays close attention to the essentials. There is a great brand and product, excellent support for franchisees and a dedicated team to provide ongoing help to the franchisee network. We're tipping this as a franchise to watch!
