Sanondaf, the disinfection and decontamination franchise, has appointed Keith McCracken as its master franchisee for Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Keith qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse and has gone on to hold a number of global business leadership roles as well as running his own management consultancy practice. Until 2015 he was Director of European Operations at Bemis Healthcare Packaging. Bemis Co, Inc is a NYSE-quoted packaging company with revenues of $4bn. Keith has a BSc in Physics and an MSc in Corporate Leadership.

He explained what attracted him to the Sanondaf opportunity: “Sanondaf’s technology addresses a growing demand for biocidal disinfection. The market extends across a wide range of residential, commercial and public-sector organisations.  In the healthcare sector in particular, patients and their relatives, as well as employees, are increasingly aware of the risks associated with infection. Sanondaf’s unique cleaning methods are designed to eliminate bacteria, viruses and other harmful microorganisms, where conventional cleaning cannot.”

Keith added: “I looked at a number of franchise opportunities but Sanondaf presented a niche opportunity in an emerging area, with great scope to create a new vibrant market. The entire island of Ireland represents a huge potential market for our franchisees with almost 1,000 care homes, hundreds of hospitals and over 3,000 veterinary surgeons. The agri-food sector, valued at over £13bn, is also be a valuable source of revenue. Sanondaf has seen impressive growth in the UK and overseas (South America, Middle East and Asia) over the past two years. We plan to replicate that in Ireland with the objective of having around 20 franchisees within the next couple of years.”

The company has developed a special touch-less disinfection system, which kills 99.99% of viruses, bacteria and germs safely, without the odour , health hazards or adverse environmental impacts associated with traditional cleaning disinfectants. The process is completely harmless to humans, animals and plants so can be deployed in any environment where infection is a threat.  Franchisees in Great Britain are currently working with clients in hospitals, nurseries, care homes, offices, gyms, kitchens, schools and universities – in fact anywhere where viruses and bacteria can be present. New applications for the service are being discovered every day such as veterinary surgeries and tattoo parlours.

The Sanondaf franchise can be operated from home or an office. Franchisees will be required to  operate a suitable vehicle for the business, which can either be within or outside the franchise package. Franchise partners will also need adequate working capital to fund the early stages of the business. In return Sanondaf offer full training, support and mentoring as well as marketing support and continuous product development to ensure the company remains at the forefront of disinfecting technologies.
