Thankapan is an experienced Camile operator, having worked in the business prior to franchising, as Operations manager. “I felt I knew the business really well” said Pramod, “so for me the risk was limited, and I knew the management team and business model.”

With 20+ restaurants in the UK and Ireland (and a pipeline of 10+ more) Camile’s fast growing franchise has ambitious plans to develop further in London initially, and then further afield. The home delivery of hot food market is exploding in urban areas around the world, driven by the rise of food aggregators like Deliveroo and Just Eat, and consumers addiction to screens.

Pramod Thankapan commented “When I was offered an opportunity to open my first franchise, I didn’t hesitate. I saw that Camile’s health focussed menu was thriving in the Dublin market, and I’ve seen this market develop and grow as peoples attitude to food changes. My four other restaurants are trading well, and I’m excited for my 5th, and more restaurants in the future. I now have 80 staff, who depend on Camile and me, and that makes me proud.”

The Camile franchise features:

  • Healthy and sustainable food offer, appealing to young urban professionals (compostable packaging, Dairy Free and Vegan options, all calorie counted to name a few)

  • Existing restaurants turnover up to €35,000 per week in Ireland (where Camile are brand leaders) / £20,000+ in London. most franchisees are opening / have opened further outlets
